Backyard Fuel Cell

From Wired Magazine is a story of a guy making a backyard fuel cell with hydrogen.  http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/15.03/play.html?pg=9

Personally I’m not for hydrogen (you lose energy on the conversion, both in making it and in using it and there’s an issue of…hazard) however it shows that if you do anything, it’s better than doing nothing.

I’m going to guess that if you replace hydrogen with biofuel from cooking oil you’d get a city solution.
